Letters to Lyanna

My Hopes for You

Dear Lyanna,

It’s the day before Mothers Day and I get to celebrate as a mother this year because of you. You are not much older than 5 months and you are absolutely adorable. Your daddy and I love you so much.

Already at 5 months you are your own unique person. You are happy, and confident. You are loving and you have pride. You enjoy bouncing, and flying like super girl all around the house. You even have a flying pose where you bend one knee and smile of course.

I’ve been thinking a lot about your future. I’m sorry, I guess it’s a parent kind of thing to do. I will try not to push my dreams for you on you… too much. But I do want to share a few of my hopes for you.

I hope you stay as confident as you are now. You are so proud of yourself. You roll over and look at me and your dad. It seems like you are thinking ‘wow did you just see what I did?! Isn’t that awesome?!’ Be proud of yourself no matter what because you are downright amazing.

I hope you have the courage to be honest. It’s not easy to be honest but if you are strong you can do it. Your dad is one on the most honest men I know, and I hope that his great quality passes on to you.

I hope you will always know your self worth. You are incredible!!! You are loved!!! And you should never lower your standards in anyway. I think the absolute world of you.

I hope you will be positive and grateful. There are a lot of amazing things out there but most of them are not big or obvious. Be grateful for the small everyday things. If you can appreciate the little things you will find that you are very blessed. Currently, you enjoy nothing more than snuggling in my arms with a warm bottle of milk. Life is good.

So Lyanna, I hope you don’t mind my wishes for you. I know you are going to do great things because I can see it in you already. I have to stop writing this letter because you want to get out of your bouncer. I think we will take a walk and look at flowers outside together.

I love you my sweet baby, always and forever.
